Title

Salvador Dali

Description

Salvador Dali married a Picasso spirit of abstract form to a realist style of painting to create his own uniquely identifiable and pioneering form of surrealism. The compositions and stylings are evocative of Magritte, yet the contents of the scene are much more organic in nature.
The choices in lighting and color create an initially serene impression in Dali paintings. The genius is in how he lures the viewer in by utilizing the trendy realist techniques of the day and then presents a moment of impending doom or despair, too late for the viewer to do anything about.
