Beacons has become a very popular spot over the years due to its versatility. The break can produce waves for all classes of surfers. The lefts tend to line up very well, and the rights are much more mushier. Problem for surfers is that the city has filled in the beach with sand causing a sand build up. Good for tourists, bad for surfers. The wave can break really well with larger swells, but needs a higher tide. Smaller swells need a lower tide.

There is a free parking lot above the beach, but it consists of twenty spots or so. Park on the street if necessary. Access the parking lot by taking Neptune Ave west. After you park simply walk down the bluffs on trail provided.
