Quite possibly the best beginners wave on the West Coast of the U.S. A gentle wave that peels right, on the way inside of the point at Steamer Lane. Crowded for good reason: surf schools, groms, families, and everybody else. Bring a big board and an attitude of cooperation, and you'll be fine.
