Title
Spanish Civil War Posters - UCSD Southworth Collection
DescriptionA treasure trove of propaganda posters from the Spanish Civil War. This online collection consists of 42 posters (a representative sample). All of these posters represent the the Republican side of the conflict, and as such, cover topics beyond the conflict such as collectivization and worker's rights. This essay provides a helpful and needed introduction to the collection. The Southworth Collection at UCSD is named after Herbert Rutledge Southworth, journalist for the Washington Post and Secretary to Spain's ambassador to the U.S. after the Spanish Civil War.
