A few scientists have found out that 273 types of protiens are necessary for AIDS to live, which may now lead to new potential targets for drugs. The scientists work was posted online on Thursday, stating that only 37 of the 273 types of protein were found by other ways of idenfiying them.The advantage of targeting humans is that the virus wouldnt be able to mutate leading it to avoid drugs that block them. To make sure the proteins were needed they did tests to see if the virus would survive. Many of the proteins are already knwon to be necessary to ti the immune system.
