The Buffalo Gap 1 wind farm located in Nolan and Taylor counties 20 miles southwest of Abilene has a 120.6 MW wind capacity provided by a total of 67 1.8 MW Vestas V-80 wind turbines.

The Buffalo Gap 2 wind farm is an expansion of the Buffalo Gap 1 wind farm, and has a wind capacity of 232.5 MW that is provided by 155 1.5 MW GE wind turbines.
