On the 20th December 1940 17 year old Desmond Chandley was fatally attacked while swimming in deep water 50 yards from the beach at Inyoni Rocks, Amanzimtoti, South Africa. Attack happened close to the spot where Leslie Lund had been killed 10 months earlier. Shark struck Chandley three times.
