On July 10th, 2004 Bradley Adrian Smith was fatally killed by a shark. He was three friends were out surfing at Left Handers Beach, south of Gracetown, near Margaret River when a shark knocked Smith from his board and mauled him. Two teenagers who pulled Smith out of the water said the shark was “as big as a car.” Mr. Smith would die at the scene from extensive injuries and blood loss.
