8th May 2002 20 year old Richard Morris tried to throw back a six-foot-long shark that was hauled aboard a trawler off the coast of Darwin after getting trapped in prawn nets but it clamped its jaws around his arms. Three of his workmates managed to free him by jamming screwdrivers in the shark's mouth to pry open its jaws. After the ordeal he was taken to Darwin Hospital for surgery.
