Prior Lake City Council members are ready to act on strategies to keep the community safe from sex offenders. They’re just not sure yet what kind of action they’ll take.

Spurred by word that a Level III sex offender was moving into Prior Lake last month, Councilman Chad LeMair urged an ordinance restricting where such offenders could live in the city.

Police got notice in early August that James Nicholas Dahlager, 26, a registered Level III sex offender, was planning to move into the Boudin neighborhood on Aug. 15. But before he could complete his move, Dahlager was arrested in Plymouth in connection with several armed robberies.
