A man charged with using the Internet to coerce a 13-year-old girl to come from Vermont to Dothan to become a sex slave is scheduled to have a pretrial conference this week in Montgomery.

Thomas Earl Douglas, 61, was arrested by the FBI in August after a detective for the South Burlington Police Department in Vermont entered an Internet chat room, posing as a 38-year-old single mother named Liz, then struck up an instant message chat with Douglas in which the detective said Douglas invited Liz to send her 13-year-old to Dothan for training as a sex slave.
