Lawyer gets 14 years for child porn
DescriptionPaul Parker got 416 years less than his maximum sentence Thursday for using children in sexual performances and possessing child pornography. Parker, 42, a lawyer since 1993, pleaded guilty to promoting a sexual performance by a child, transmitting computer images of child pornography, three counts of using children in a sexual performance and 73 counts of possessing computer images of child pornography. He faced up to 430 years in prison. Instead, Parker received 14 years in prison followed by 14 years on probation as a part of a plea agreement. Parker was given credit for 290 days in jail since his arrest. He will be eligible for gain time through the Department of Corrections, but has to serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence. Parker was arrested in November for using the Internet to entice 13- and 14-year-old boys into performing sexual acts in front of a Web cam. Authorities said Parker recorded these acts and used them to make pornographic movies. Tagschild pornographyDateSeptember 7, 2007Recent contributorsLightedCandle[Delete entry] |
