A convicted rapist, who served a 20-year sentence for raping a minor in Pennsylvania in 1983, was arrested by Newark police when he showed up at a Glasgow shopping center allegedly to meet one of the two teenage girls he had assaulted between 2004 and 2006, police said.

The girl told police that as they were lying in the living room talking, they noticed Hardwick at the computer nearby watching pornography.

According to court records Hardwick invited the two girls to come view the pornography with him and asked them if they liked what they saw. Then he told them, "When you're ready, I'll teach you," according to court records.

That same night he took them downstairs to the basement where he allegedly began fondling them, which led to them engaging in other sex acts, police said in court records.
