Santaluces High School drama teacher Andrew Foster had an unusually close bond with his students, more friend than teacher, students and a parent volunteer said Saturday.

"My initial impression was he was amazing," said Kristen Schroeder, 37, a former drama club volunteer whose daughter was one of Foster's students. "Then I started noticing a lot of preferential treatment" toward certain students.

She also noticed other things: He would vacation with the students, share food with them and even change his clothes in front of them.Schroeder said she notified school officials about what she considered Foster's inappropriate behavior but does not think they responded effectively. School officials could not be reached for comment despite attempts by phone and a visit to the homecoming dance Saturday.
