A Tuna Terrace man was sentenced last week to three consecutive 10-20 year jail terms for his convictions on four counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault against a 7-year-old girl.

In June, Jerry Jones, 36, was found guilty by a Rockingham County Superior Court jury of four counts of sexually assaulting the minor. All of the crimes were brought to police attention as a result of 14 earlier convictions for possession of child pornography. Jones, according to County Attorney Jim Reams, was an acquaintance of the victim’s family and spent “a lot of time” with her.

He was already serving a two- to four-year state prison sentence for his conviction on a charge of using a computer to lure a child for sex. In addition, he is serving a two- to five-year sentence for a conviction of possessing child pornography.
