A Shelby County man is being held in the Autauga County Metro Jail on a $280,000 bond following his arrest on sex-related offenses, mostly involving children.

Prattville Police arrested 43-year-old Richard Glenn Burchfield of Wilsonville on Friday. He's charged with 20 counts of possessing child pornography, soliciting a child by computer and transmitting obscene materials to a child.

Police Chief Alfred Wadsworth alleges that Burchfield thought had been e-mailing illicit sexual materials to a 14-year-old girl, who turned out to be an adult. He said Burchfield had been under investigation since November 2006.
