The project was born from this simple idea in May 2004. A wish that may sound obvious but which had no echo in the jungle of online services.

If it doesn't exist, let's do it!

The need we wanted to fulfill is quite simple:

* Publish whatever you like: blog, photos, videos, audios, ...
* Share what you want with people who matter to you or with the whole world
* And, last but not least, create a powerful indexing tool that enables you to locate all your information and that which others allow for sharing.

… All of it for thousands of people, millions even. Without or almost without any limitations. Just that!

Ipernity is a young firm which tries to realize great things with small means. We had no idea at that moment of the intricacy of such a project. But we took up the challenge!
Almost three years later...

In three years, many things happened on the Internet. Greater firms didn't await us to launch services that are now mainstays of Web 2.0. We observed them closely. We were happy to find there some of our ideas and did not hesitate to inspire ourselves from the best. Today we think we are able to compete with the greatest by offering you a more complete and better integrated Web 2.0 experience. This is our opinion, we will let you be the judge of it.

Ipernity is still a young service, in a beta testing phase. We count on you to help us improve it, and you can count on us to enhance this service promptly.
